Yes, chocolate is extremely delicious but let’s be honest… it doesn’t really serve our health in the long term. But I have good news for all you chocolate lovers out there: This chocolate mousse is the perfect combo of satisfying indulgence and health food. Treat yourself!
A secret ingredient is the reason why this chocolate mousse is especially creamy: avocado! And trust me, you don’t taste it at all. Avocados also nourish our bodies with polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are beneficial for our cholesterol level and our cardiovascular system, as well as with vitamins such as vitamin E, K and B6. Raw cocoa powder contains a lot of minerals such as magnesium and calcium as well as antioxidants and neurotransmitters that work as a mood booster! And last but not least: coconut cream is full of potassium, magnesium and a unique combination of fatty acids that our bodies can easily digest and use as immediate energy.
Ingredients (2 servings)
1 ripe (!) avocados
¼ cup raw cocoa powder
3 TB maple syrup (or other sweetener of choice)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 pitted Medjool dates
¼ cup coconut cream
pinch of salt
1 – 2 hands full of strawberries and blueberries
1. Combine ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
2. Top chocolate mousse with strawberries and blueberries. Bon appétit!
