The Healthy Life Q&A – 10 Questions With Sandra From Yogazauber

I’m excited to present you the first interview in the series “The Healthy Life Q & A”! In this series I will introduce you to inspiring personalities and give you a little insight into their healthy way of living.

Let’s start with Sandra, yoga teacher and founder of Yogazauber. Have fun!

1. Tell us a little about you – who are you and what is “Yogazauber” about?

My name is Sandra Frielingsdorf and I’m a trained yoga teacher. I’ve been teaching for many years – group classes and individual courses at home or abroad. I also teach private Vinyasa and Yin yoga. Furthermore, I organize regular workshops or yoga events such as open air yoga.

Yoga is my life philosophy, my passion, my “life” and it doesn’t stop when I roll up my mat. Especially in my everyday life is where yoga really starts. Incidentally, the name “Yogazauber” was created when my first yoga class “enchanted” me.

2. How did you get started with yoga?

I came in touch with yoga at a big sports event in early 2000. I was infected immediately and suddenly wanted to know everything about yoga. From then on, I focused on yoga and everything that goes with it and started my yoga teacher training in 2004.

3. What does a typical day in your life look like?

Getting up, drinking a cup of coffee, then I do a 30-minute gentle yoga practice including meditation, then breakfast. After breakfast I do a some housekeeping and then drive to my lessons. At lunchtime, I’m usually at home, so I can cook something healthy, then I prepare more lessons and work on my computer (or, as I’m doing now, answering interview questions :)). Before I leave the house again for teaching, I do a second more intense practice.

4. What are the 3 foods you couldn’t live without?

Nuts, oatmeal, potatoes.

5. What’s your go-to snack for days when you’re on the run?

An organic snack bar.

6. What is your favorite asana and why?

Headstand! It gives me a sense of stability and serenity, helps me again and again to overcome fears. Even before an important conversation, I do a headstand.

7. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

You can do it!

8. What’s your life motto or mantra?

Life is beautiful.

9. What ignites your passion for what you do?

The feeling of knowing how well I feel after the yoga practice rekindles my passion every day.

10. Do you have any tips for those of us who are just starting their yoga and healthy living journey?

Don’t rush anything, so don’t go from 0 to 100. The Yogasutra says: The path of yoga is not based on a short-term perspective. It does not see itself as a highway to enlightenment. Yoga is the smart way of the middle, it changes us gradually and helps us slowly, but all the more sustainably to clarity and stability. This is exactly how I see the change from a meat eater to a vegetarian and from a vegetarian to a vegan and from normal cosmetics to organic cosmetics. Here, a well thought-out plan helps “one” to get closer to the change step by step.
